Overview

ShotKeep (“we”, “our”, “the app”) is a screenshot management tool that helps you safely clean up screenshots on your iPhone. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how ShotKeep handles your data.

The Short Version

• All screenshot analysis happens entirely on your device
• We do not collect, upload, or share your photos, screenshots, or OCR text
• We do not track your behavior or sell your data
• The only data that leaves your device is subscription payment processing through Apple

Data We Access

Photos Library

ShotKeep accesses your photo library to:

• Read screenshot metadata (creation date, file size, dimensions)
• Load screenshot images for on-device OCR text recognition
• Display thumbnails in the app
• Delete screenshots you choose to remove (via the system Photos deletion API)

This data never leaves your device. All OCR analysis and classification happens locally using Apple's Vision framework. No screenshots, images, or extracted text are uploaded to any server.

On-Device Storage

ShotKeep stores the following data locally on your device:

• OCR analysis results and classification data (cached to avoid re-processing)
• Your manual protection decisions (protect/review choices)
• App preferences and settings
• Onboarding completion status

This data is stored using Apple's SwiftData framework and UserDefaults. It is not accessible to other apps and is deleted when you uninstall ShotKeep.

Data We Collect

We Do Not Collect Personal Data

ShotKeep does not collect, store, or transmit:

• Your photos or screenshots
• OCR-extracted text from your screenshots
• Your name, email, or contact information
• Device identifiers for tracking purposes
• Usage analytics or behavioral data
• Location data

Subscription Information

If you subscribe to ShotKeep Pro, the payment is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details (credit card number, billing address, etc.). Apple provides us with:

• Subscription status (active/expired)
• Transaction verification data

This is handled by Apple's StoreKit framework and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Services

ShotKeep does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only third-party service involved is:

• Apple App Store — for subscription payment processing

Data Sharing

We do not share your data with anyone. Period.

• No advertising partners
• No analytics providers
• No data brokers
• No affiliates or subsidiaries

Data Security

Your data is protected by:

• On-device processing — Screenshots and OCR text never leave your device
• iOS sandboxing — App data is isolated from other apps
• No network transmission — The app does not send your content to any server
• System-level encryption — iOS encrypts app data at rest

Children's Privacy

ShotKeep does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app does not collect personal data from any user regardless of age.

Data Retention and Deletion

• All app data is stored locally on your device
• Uninstalling ShotKeep removes all locally stored data
• Deleted screenshots go to the system “Recently Deleted” album and can be recovered within 30 days (this is an iOS system feature, not controlled by ShotKeep)

Your Rights

Since we don't collect your data, there is nothing to request access to, correct, or delete on our servers. All your data is on your device and under your control.

If you want to remove all ShotKeep data, simply uninstall the app.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or on our website. The “Last Updated” date at the top indicates when this policy was last revised.
